The TrickleStar Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat and Electric Water Heater Controller provide integrated control, ToU scheduling and demand response capability for two of the most energy-intensive applications in most households namely, HVAC and water heating.
The Smart Thermostat is easy to use, highly configurable and features an industry-first backlit jog-dial for intuitive control by the widest range of end-users.
The Water Heater Controller retrofits existing and new CTA-2045B electric water heaters to grid enable them with ToU scheduling, control, power measurement and demand response capability.
TrickleStar’s connected platform, provides utilities with a unified HVAC and water heating solution that’s simple to install, feature rich and easy to use.
Control is implemented via a multi-layered approach featuring three parts:
The TrickleStar App provides mobile access to the system, enabling control from anywhere. An industry-first, multi-user geofencing is built directly into the TrickleStar App. It automatically changes device modes depending on the mobile location in relation to the geofence.
The TrickleStar Portal is the backend cloud service enabling advanced access to all features of the system.
Installers can create a Portal account for free, install and configure Smart Thermostats and Water Heater Controllers before transferring ownership to homeowners.
Each household member can create a free Portal account, and control multiple smart thermostats and water heaters across multiple sites. Multi-device and multi-site control makes the solution ideal for multi-family environments.
TrickleStar currently supports integration with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, IFTTT and Virtual Peaker.
