In Fall 2022, A. O. Smith introduced its most energy efficient water heater with the Voltex® AL (anti-leak) Smart Hybrid Electric Heat Pump Water Heater. Designed to provide plenty of hot water at the lowest possible cost, the ENERGY STAR® certified HPWH features integrated leak detection and smart connectivity to provide homeowners with significant energy savings and added peace of mind.

Voltex® AL heat pump water heaters are 4x more efficient than standard electric water heaters, saving homeowners up to 75% in annual energy bills. By dramatically decreasing the cost of operation, homeowners can save more than $600 per year on utility bills.* In fact, Voltex AL is one of the highest efficiency models available with a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) of 3.88 (80-gallon model), and the highest 50-gallon efficiency available today of 3.8 UEF. That means that for roughly every $1 of energy you pay, you’ll get $4 of hot water.

Voltex® AL is equipped with iCOMM™ technology to support new connected anti-leak technology, including integrated leak detection and an industry-first smart anode to extend the life of the product, along with built-in demand response intelligence. Using the A. O. Smith app, homeowners and professionals can remotely manage the water heater to improve performance and increase savings, including monitoring schedules and energy usage, as well as adjusting temperature levels and four programmable operating modes. For added peace of mind, the smart sensor alerts homeowners immediately through the app if a leak is detected, and an optional shutoff valve accessory can be added. For installation flexibility, it features industry exclusive top/side water connections, zero-clearance required on sides and back to fit into smaller spaces, and integrated ducting adapters.
